I couldn’t agree more. The second half of the film takes on an entirely different mood to that of the lighter and more enjoyable first half. But, while the concept of the reluctant superhero is a good one (the majority of superheroes seem to unflinchingly accept their destinies), basing an entire movie on the idea was always going to be difficult.

Ha, I don’t think I come up with THAT much stuff.

I guess it’s a combination of the fact that I really am trying to cut my way into the entertainment journalism medium, and the more practice I have - not to mention padding out my portfolio - means that I have that much more to bring to the table when I apply for work.

The other reason is the fact that I love gaming, I love movies, I love music, and most importantly I love writing about it. Writing helps me chill out, is fun, and has the bonus of making me better at my work too (see above), so I guess it serves as encouragement to really do as much as I can to the best of my ability.

Anyway, enough rambling, hope I answered the question!

I wish I had played more of these games… I definitely had the same experience in Oblivion (I think we all do!), but I never played Full Throttle, sadly. Grim Fandango was an experience for me, though, with that great noir atmosphere and jazzy soundtrack…

Absolutely!

Besides the fact that TF2 is easily the best multiplayer shooter to have come out in years (surpassing Call of Duty 4 imo), the Orange Box is also the single best bit of value you can get in gaming today, containing as it does Half Life 2, both extra episodes, TF2 and Portal, all of which are terrific games in their own right.

I am yet to speak to anyone that has been disappointed with TF2, which is fairly amazing considering how picky gamers can be.
